Astronomical Time - A tool for amateur astronomers to simplify different times across the world.
A tool for amateur astronomers to simplify different times across the world.
Do you always hate having to convert from local time to UTC time? Or having to go to a thousand different sites to convert from one time type to another? Or having to check what Julian time it is? No longer!
This app has two types of screens: one is for the current times and the other for converting times.
The current time screen shows three times: local time (as set by your phone), UTC time (synced to the Prime Meridian) and the Julian Date for the UTC time.
There are four separate screens for converting times from one to another: Local Time to Julian Date, Local Time to UTC Time, UTC Time to Local Time and Julian Date to UTC Time.
NOTE: I've tried hundreds of combinations to make sure each algorithm was correct, but computers, much like humans, are flawed. It's more than likely that it will work, but I would double check the conversions just to make sure that they're correct. :)
